Soldiers given more reasons to shoot to kill on home soil – National
If you think it is an exaggeration to say Australia is moving dangerously close to martial law, you are sadly mistaken. The Liberal party plans to shove through new laws, extending the army’s shoot-to-kill provisions, and even more frightening, the power for the Prime Minister, the Defence Minister or the Attorney-General, to call out the troops in a ‘domestic dispute.’
This is chilling to the bone. This gives a massive amount of freedom to our military, and it is overwhelming unnecessary. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the army would be used in the event of large protests and industrial disputes. And with the new anti-terror laws, it all compounds to a very offensive government against any form of progressive change. They have taken to majority through lies and hysteria, they have raped the parliament of the little meaning it had, and it is exploiting this power to its fullest extent.
