There are so many books in the world, and one of my fears is not being able to read all the ones I want to before I die. But I’m beginning to read quicker and quicker, and I’ve got two books left from the pile I got for Christmas, including the one I’m reading now, Straight Into Darkness by Faye Kellerman.
And it is very often when talking writing, books, and politics that some will say, “You should really read…” and I’ll say, “Wow, ok, I’ll remember that.” But in saying that so often, I’ve forgotten all the books I’m supposed to read, and keeping track is next to impossible.
Do other people find this happening to them? And if so, how do you keep track of all the books you’re going to read next?
books, reading, lists
I read so slow that I rarely have this problem. I actually have a small shelf in my room only for books that I have not read that I want to read. It makes it easier to choose if these books are kept seperate from my library.
Hope your putting the odd political book in that reading Ben
I would suggest ‘revolutionary rehearsals’ or the new pamphlet ‘workers revolutions of the 20th century’ if you haven’t read them already. Have you got through the basics reading list yet??
I need to get back to some political reading. I need to finish the basic list, which I’m a long way off
I’m like you. I read slow. I’ve had so many books recommended to me over the years, it’s not funny. And no, I can’t remember the names of more than half of them.
However, last year I bought a pad and started writing the books on that. The list is ever growing, as you can imagine, but when I see a book that I recognise the name of I can look at the list and know if it’s been recommended or not.
